Genesis in the Hills

We took a drive out to Roleystone on a nice day last weekend and headed for a place called Genesis In The Hills. It's a restaurant that serves vegetarian food and is surrounded by trees, birds and the occasional house dog.

Kids roam around the place. The feel is very relaxed and down to earth - but I didn't feel the need to be wearing beads or recycled sandals to fit in.

The menu is not large, but there's enough to make it interesting. I had a Burekos, and my partner had a Vege Burger. My serving was too small, but very tasty. It was expensive for the size of the serving, and was gone in 60 seconds (I was a tad hungry). My partners' meal was great - she struggled to finish it off. The lentil burger was actually really savoury and tasty (lentil burgers are a gamble - I've had plenty of cardboard flavoured instances). To make the meal more filling, I'd add an entree in the future.

Topped it off with a great ricotta cheese cake (9 out of 10). Mocca that preceded it was good - a nice rich chocolate and coffee hit at the start of the meal.

We plan to go out there again. I'll take some biscuits for the dog...
